Who we are

Three generations of metal, one trusted recycler.

Power Metal Recyclers was born from the merger of two third-generation scrap-metal companies — today one of the major players in the South African industry. Hands-on leadership, a multi-generational ethos and a clear commitment to local beneficiation drive everything we do.

Materials we handle

The full ferrous and non-ferrous spectrum.

Whatever your operation generates, we have the processing, logistics and consumer relationships to recover its value.

Non-ferrous scrap metal

Non-ferrous

Higher-value metals recovered, sorted and graded for local consumers — the copper-toned heart of our metallic accent.

Brass
Yellow, red and mixed brass
Aluminium
Sheet, extrusion, cast and alloy wheels / rims
Other non-ferrous
Lead, zinc, stainless and mixed metals
Ferrous scrap metal

Ferrous

The full ferrous spectrum, processed at scale and prepared to mill specification for South African beneficiation.

Heavy & light steel
Plate, structural and general steel
Turnings & swarf
Machining turnings and steel swarf
Shredded & baled ferrous
Densified output ready for furnaces
Cast iron
Engine blocks, castings and heavy iron

Local beneficiation

We turned the export model on its head.

A decade ago, PMR exported 90% of its scrap. Today we export only about 10% — over 90% of recovered metal now feeds South African mills, foundries and manufacturers. That is real circular-economy impact: value, jobs and material kept at home.

A decade ago

90% exported

Like much of the industry, the majority of recovered metal left South Africa's shores as raw export tonnage.

The shift

Backing local beneficiation

Aligned with government strategy, PMR re-engineered its supply to feed South African mills and foundries rather than ship value abroad.

Today

Over 90% consumed locally

Exports are down to roughly 10%. More than nine in ten tons now drive local manufacturing, jobs and the circular economy.

Our footprint

Two cities. One standard of operation.

Major infrastructure in Gauteng and the Eastern Cape, backed by an aggressive capital-expenditure programme to keep processing and delivery efficient.
